Any unplanned event that happens to a child with one type of attachment could change his life. For instance, if a child was loosely attached to his mother (anxious/resistant or disorganized), and maybe the mother saved the child at one point from falling off, or cheered him up from getting ridiculed in kindergarten, that child could turn out to feel more secure.

The examples you provided are examples of a strengthening attachment style. The examples provided here are when the loose attachment style changes and the mother starts to care more about the child, which really seems to support the idea that better attachment results in a better well-being.
That being said, an unplanned event that affects the child could change his life. However, I think the type of unplanned events that could have this impact would be the ones where they trigger the child to do a deep consideration of his/her lifestyle, and change it for the better.
