Attachment Lab

The environment that a child grows up in can be very influential to what they achieve in life.  The environment that they are most commonly immersed in is at home with their parents.  This means that their attachment style is very important and can play a major role in what they can do later in life.  This explains why there is a general correlation between attachment style and well-being later in life.  The only thing is that they can be influenced by other things once they begin to leave their parents more and more often.  No matter how they act in given situations based on their attachment style, they are still influenced by that event.  They will likely act differently based on the different style but it will still impact them regardless of how they react.  So other events will still impact how they develop and their well-being later in life.

I believe that life is made up of a series of events, some of the events leading to yet another event. The course of these events are controlled by both internal and external forces which ultimately shape the child. Although the internal forces may be heavily influenced by the attachment style in their childhood, the external forces may play an even larger role in developing the child in later years. These external forces may come from different people, but this can be easier if the child were in a situation without their parents.

I agree with the first post, environment does play a crucial role in shaping a child. The experiences they have and the situations they are put in will help prepare them for things to come. Through this the parent's play an even bigger role as they are fostering the way their child handles and acts in these situations, and are the ones "mimicked" by their children, since they are seen as role models and their outlook is placed on their children.
