Having a sibling, especially an older sibling, can influence both one's attachment style and well being later in life for the better. Having an older sibling will give a child someone to play with that can relate better to him or her, resulting in better social development. The child will understand to share and that he or she cannot be completely attached to his or her mother because she will not always be able to be there for him or her. It will lead to better well being later in life because having better social skills and relationships will lead to better opportunities later in life.
