I think that secure attachment and well-being later in life could both be influenced in the same manner by the environment one is raised in or the parenting techniques of the parents. If authoritative parents that show sensitivity and guidance to the child produce secure attachment, it is conceivable that this style of parenting also causes the child to become a well-adjusted adult later in life. In this case, the correlation between secure attachment and well-being does not show causation, but rather, the two stem from different causes.
