my dream (more like a nightmare)

penname: fruityTea

In my dream, I was taking a chemistry quiz. I tried to read the mass numbers from the periodic table, but the numbers kept changing somehow. I started to panic and tried to recall some of the common mass numbers in my mind. Quickly calculating my equations and solving the problem magically, I frantically scribbled down the answer onto my quiz paper. As I started to write down my answers, however, the answers turned into white ink and disappeared as if it was being automatically erased. My time was up, and I had no choice but to turn in my paper blank. I started to scream "Noooooo" in slow motion and everything went blurry. Then I woke up.

Since the dream is mostly about you freaking out during a chemistry quiz, I would assume that you are under a lot of stress or you are putting a lot of pressure on yourself. Clearly you are nervous either about a specific quiz/test or are just nervous about how well you understand the chemistry material in general. Being unable to read the numbers on the periodic table and not being able to write down the answers (because the ink turned white) suggests that the pressure you are putting on yourself or the fact that you are nervous is more to blame for the panic that arises than you actually not being prepared or unable to comprehend the information. So, I would say don't stress out too much! You likely know and understand the chemistry material, so just don't panic for the sake of panicking at the last minute during a quiz or test. :)

It seems as if you had this dream around the time you had a big chemistry quiz that you were nervous to take because, perhaps, you felt like you didn't feel prepared enough to do well on the quiz. The fact that you mentioned that the numbers kept changing seems to allude to the fact that you may be overwhelmed with the course load of the class or maybe just confused about the material. Your dream may also suggest that you had a lot of things going around at the time of this quiz (assuming that you did have one) and that you felt like you couldn't keep up with everything in your life all at once. For example, if you had this dream recently, the new college experience and the unfamiliar work load could have made you feel more disorganized than usual. I, too, agree with twizz123 and would encourage you to try and relax and not worry so much about the results of the quiz. And try to get a good night's sleep! :)

Your dream, or nightmare as the case may be, seems to be a classic case of anxiety. At the beginning you suffered from hallucinations, possibly brought on from lack of sleep(possibly due to a nightmare or an inability to) or an extreme case of nerves. Another issue is your lack of preparation. You only recalled common mass numbers and your equations started solving themselves magically. This is a vain hope that everyone who walks into a test unprepared harbors and your dream(nightmare) allowed you to see why this hope is vain as you saw your ink turn to white, and your undeserved answers melt away. However, you can turn that tragic "NO" into a triumphant "YES" with a calm mind and consistent effort. Good luck and good work. :)

Since your dream is about you doing poorly in school, you are probably anxious about classes (particularly chemistry?), and fear doing poorly. However, you seem somewhat prepared for the class, knowing mass numbers and being able to magically do problems. Since the reason for you failing the quiz is completely out of your control, such as magically changing periodic tables and automatically erasing ink, I think that there is a fear that no matter how much you prepare for a class, things could work against you and cause you to do poorly. Usually this is not the case: proper preparation, which it seems you have, almost always will lead to success in classes. :)

This appears to be an anxiety dream brought on by the stress of going away to college. You seem overwhelmed by the large amounts of work and pressures of college classes, which is natural. I would expect you to be the type of student who takes work very seriously and is easily stressed by school. Just by how you explained that you were unable to recall simple problems and your answers were being erased on your page suggests that you are unsure that you will be able to handle the college work. Dont worry, we all have these dreams and Im sure youll do well in school!

This dream seems to indicate that you are thinking a lot about school, specifically chemistry, and that you are under a lot of pressure to perform well. The sense of panic and urgency you convey suggests that you are nervous about doing well academically. The ink disappearing toward the end might be due to a fear of forgetting what youve studied for during a quiz or exam. All these fears are pretty normal for students - remember that if you prepare well, you'll be fine :]

Heya. :)

I'm no expert in dream interpretation, but I'd have to agree with what a lot of the other people on this board have said already: it sounds like you're under a lot of stress.  And if I had to take a guess, I'd say you're enrolled in a chem class right now (not like that would be too outlandish of an assumption).  The stress doesn't necessairily have to be purely from classes, either--I mean, going to college is a big deal.  Maybe you don't feel like you have control over the situations you're being thrown into, (like leaving home, making new friends, living on your own, etc) similiarly to how you didn't have control over the answers that you tried to write down on the chem quiz?  Anyway, I'm sorry about your nightmare... I hate those.
