Ruler Lab

I believe that humans and machines are ultimately different, but they have a few similarities. Machines and humans both have a purpose and a goal for doing something and we complete tasks through a process. We are wired similarly, but instead of electrical sensors we have nerves and senses. However machines are able to replicate a task exactly the same whereas humans cannot duplicate it perfectly. If machines have a task at hand they will complete it and most likely start over, while humans have multiple things on our minds at once and can easily get distracted by our surroundings or we can make the choice not to continue. Therefore humans are different from machines.

I think that humans and machines are essentially different in their form and way of functioning. With the ruler lab, it was evident that humans either have an improvement or even a more arbitrary result from the trials. That was the case with mine. There would be consistency for one part and then a couple of distances threw the mean off. On the other hand, machines are strictly formulaic. They have a specific process that they cannot divert from. For humans, we are more flexible in the way we can take different approaches to reaching a set goal.
