Earliest Memory

My earliest memories are around age two-and-a-half.  At that time, my dad was a consultant who traveled full-time, and my mom had just given birth to twins.  I can distinctly remember helping her by doing various chores like answering the phone, making my own lunches, and bringing her blankets and diapers for the babies.

I see myself as having similar tendencies to the ones I had at that young age.  My behavior then was mature and industrious and, at this point in my life, I feel those are still areas of strength for me.  However, I am not the same person I was then.  My tastes, experiences, and view of life have all drastically changed (for the better I hope).

While this person's memory showed the maturity of their young age, mine definitely showed young innocence.  However, i think our earliest memories can connect in a way of independence.  This person learned to do things for themselves at such a young age and i had a mindset that i knew what i wanted and i wasn't willing to back down.  I was independent in thoughts, i wasn't going to follow the crowd just for the sake of fitting in and being let into the "playhouse".  Also, i like how this person took matters into their own little hands.  I can see some children yearning for their mothers attention with the arrival of new babies, but this person became a helper and in turn independent.
