earliest childhood memory

I think the earliest thing I remembered about my childhood was my ride on the first day of kindergarten. I was about three to four and my parents drove me to the school. I think I was on the back middle seat if I recalled correct, because I may have gotten this from watching too much TV, in which kids usually sit in that spot. Some things that made this memorable to me was that I cried several times on that day. In terms of personality, I think it is a bit difficult to tell, since I did not remember how I was like back then. But from the image in my mind, I could still tell that it was me on the car.

Our memories are similar in that we were both around three or four. While in my memory I was feeling strong emotions of happiness, you remember your memory because you felt strong memories of sadness. I was also with family members and in familiar territory (me at McDonalds, you at school).

I also had my earliest memory in Kindergarten (age 4). When I think back though, it was an enjoyable experience, and I remember being really happy because it was around Christmas season as well. I also can recognize that the image in my mind was myself. There's no doubt that I've changed, but I think the essence of my personality is still there.

i've noticed, after sifting through many of the posts, that the earliest memory people recall are of the age 3 or 4 including my own. Either that is the earliest any one can remember up to or we all just assume we were that age. Also, i found what you said about inserting information into our memories because of experience rather interesting. All throughout writing my description, i was thinking if i was remembering an experience that didn't exactly happen the way i thought it did.
