My earliest memory is from when I was in kindergarten. I was sitting by myself at a round table with colored legs, and I was drawing in a coloring book with crayons. I specifically identify this with being in my kindergarten classroom, but I also had a table like that in my bedroom when I was young, so Im not sure if Im just mixing up locations.
Im not sure why I remember this so vividly, since there isnt a specific event that is associated with this memory in fact, it is more of a still image. I dont really feel very continuous with my younger self, either; it sort of feels like I am looking at the person, not that I am the person.
I think that its really interesting that you remember this table and I do believe that it is because you had it in your room as well as in the classroom. I think that certain artifacts are important in creating memories themselves and they act as storage vessels for the memory. Do you still have the table, because if you do have the table still that may also be why you are able to remember this.
