Earliest Memory

I was about three in my earliest memory.  I had to have surgery on my back to remove a potentially cancerous mole.  I remember going to the hospital before the day of my surgery and picking out the flavor on the anesthesia and I watched the nurse show me exactly what would happen on a big teddy bear.  I also remember waking up from my surgery and when asked what I wanted to watch I picked Barney.  I think that this memory was particularly memorable because I was scared and nervous and I was very young.  This type of experience is easier to remember.  Also, it affected my senses, such as smelling, so maybe that helped me remember the memory so vividly.  I think my personality is different now that it was then because I have a better understanding of what is going on around me now and I would know more what to expect and not be as scared as I was when I was three.  The thing that has stayed the same is the fact that I still dont like hospitals.
