earliest childhood memory

My earliest memory, I think, was from when I was exactly 4 years old. The only reason I remember my age at the time, is because I soon after remember wanting to "skip" 5 years old, and go right to 6 years old (and got quite upset when my mother wouldn't let me!). I remember dropping toys out of the 2nd story of the apartment complex that I live in. My sister and I kept dropping things down into the bushes, and then running down and retrieving the toys. My mother eventually told us that we needed to stop, so we tried it one more time...and then realized that we couldn't get the toys from the bushes anymore. So in a stoke of genius, we decided that it would be okay for my sister to hang me by my ankles out the window. I specifically remember seeing the toys in the bushes, and feeling that "just a little further" would get me down to their level. This is a perfect example of another phenomena of childhood: the lack of depth perception. Looking back on it now, there is no way that I would have been able to reach the toys....not even close...but they seemed soooo reachable at the time! Anyhow, my mother walked in the room upstairs, and sounded VERY angry, so my sister and I just went and crawled into bed and hid under the covers together.
