While attachment during early childhood can lead to a positive relationship experience, too much attachment may in fact hinder a child's development. Studies have shown that children who are securely attached by a certain age to their caregiver can develop traits of kindness, the ability to recognize emotions in others, develop friendships easily, and even have secure romances. Yet, this could also be examined in the sense that the child will not develop on their own without being attached to the care giver. The securely attached person may not experience real-world situations and develop the skills to strive on their own.
