Developmental Lab

After doing the reading I do believe that the attachment between the caregiver and the child does impact its development down the road, but I do no believe that the answer is that cut and dry. I feel like there are other factors that need to be taken into account such as the scocioeconomic background of the family. Some families may have different ideas of interactions. Maybe the caregiver is not just the parents but maybe the grandparents live with the family, the primary caregiver can vary. So although the attention and time spent with the child is important it cannot be the only factor into the development of a complex human being with emotions. Also down the road they may have a bad experience with people and that could also affect their outlook on relationships.

the socioeconomic factor was taken into consideration when they showed the studies that 60% of infants were secure in healthy middle class families and only 7% of the undernourished kids were secure. i however find it true that the family dynamics would play a role in the development and security of the child.
