attachment lab

I think that there are many possible reaons that a child with a secure attatchment would be more successful later in life. One possible alternate explanation simply has to do with how much the parents are present in the child's life. If the parents are present a lot, the child will form a secure attachment and learn from the parents about other aspects of life. However, if the parents are absent much of the time, the baby will most likely not form a secure attachment and they will not be able to learn from the parents as easily. This is a case of a confounding variable. There is no direct link between level of attachment and success found later in life.
