A person who has loving, caring and attentive parents may obviously do better later on in life as he/she is better equipped to handle human society in general. If the parents were careless and irresponsible, the child may not be that successful, because he/she will feel incomplete, and thus is more likely to do worse
I kind of agree with what you're saying. In your example a child would observe other child-parent interactions of his peers and compare it to his own. In this way i can see how he feels incomplete and possibly envious of others. This could be an overlooked variable in the child's future relationship building, in that he already has a feeling of spite before dealing with others.
