This week I had a dream that I was in my room at home about to start my first day of school. My house was exactly the same as I had left it but my brother, who is younger than me in real life, was older than me. I got ready for school, got on the bus (which I haven't done in years) and arrived at school to see that all of my friends had graduated and everyone had aged, but I was still 18. I tried going to the administration to figure out what was happening but no one would listen to me or acknowledge me. For some reason I thought my freshman year locker was my own so I went there and all my stuff was in it, there were pictures of me and my friends that actually exist in real life.
I believe that your dream was a more literal dream than a disguised dream. The fact that you were getting ready to start your first day of school correlates with your first day of school at Carnegie Mellon. Your house staying the same perhaps symbolizes your childhood and past life remaining as it is as you begin your journey through college; however, your brother and your friends' aging may symbolize the members of your family continuing and moving through their lives as you move through yours. The bus may signify your transition through this next stage of your life as well as represent nostalgia for the many first days of school that you have already experienced. It's possible that you remaining 18 shows that you are now at a standstill of your life where you need to figure out which direction you will take: aging like your friends and family, or staying at the age of 18. The fact that no one will listen to you or acknowledge you may show that you must figure things out for yourself right now as no one will tell you what to do in college anymore. Finally the pictures of you and your friends may symbolize the everlasting bonds that you all will always share.
