So, I don't exactly recall how this dream started, but I was with a group of my schoolmates from high school. We were walking what seemed like a school but it wasn't any of the buildings at my high school now that I look back at it in retrospect. It was raining outside and there was lots of thunder and lightning.
Eventually our group decided to leave the building and walk somewhere else. We were walking down some outdoor stairs and there was lots of thunder and lightning, so close that the ground shook from the sound of thunder. I was walking down the steps outside with this girl that I had a crush on for a while, and she was holding the metal guide rail on the steps. I reflexively grabbed her hand away from the rail just before lightning struck the rail. Not really sure what happened in the next few moments, but I think we went back inside.
Later on in the dream, I saw her in a hallway of school (although again, not my specific high school), and she smiled at me. I don't remember how the dream ended but I'm pretty sure I woke up fairly soon afterwards.
Do note that this dream happened on the night when there were a lot of thunderstorms around the Pittsburgh area, which probably explains the thunderstorms in my dream.
