Earliest Memory Lab

My earliest memory is of when I started preschool. I was probably three. I remember my mom dropping me off and walking me in. Then, when I asked her where her coloring spot was, she told me she didn't have one and left. Then I cried because my mommy left, and then the teacher sat me on her lap and gave me a popsicle. Then I felt better and I was able to color!

I think my personality is pretty similar to the way it was when I was about three. I'm still really sensitive, but I'm also independent (thus I got over my mom not coloring with me pretty quickly) and I still love my mom! I probably remember this because my mom very rarely left me somewhere without her (she was a stay at home mom). I do feel like I am continuous with that person.

Although my first memory is not similar to this, I have had a similar experience. When I moved to California from the south, I went to daycare during the day (we moved during summer vacation). My very first day of daycare, I was given a snack that I did not enjoy at all. I started to eat it anyway though, because my mother specifically told me that day to eat whatever it was the daycare staff gave me. So, I began eating the carrots and started crying. The daycare staff member comforted me though, and told me I didn't have to eat carrots. :) ... I like carrots today though, so I guess some things change.

My first memory was not similar to this either, but I had a similar memory concerning preschool. I was told by my mother to sit nicely and look nice for the school pictures. I started to cry and freak out when they tried to take my picture, because the photographer was scary looking. They tried to make me stop crying, but I would not. I am not the same person now.

My first memory was kind of like this, it also had to do with preschool. I remember being somewhat uncomfortable, until I started playing with toys I realized were just like the ones I had at home. I really liked toy cars and the ones that the preschool had were the same as the ones I had only a different color.
