Earliest Memory

My earliest memory, that I am positive that actually happened, was when I was about about three and a half. At the preschool I attended, we were throwing our own circus for our parents. I remember wearing my pink tutu running around in the "circus march" and then crawling through a hula hoop like a seal. I feel like that this was me based on how I remember it. Sometimes I have memories that are formed based on pictures or what others have told me. Those memories tend to be more like out of body experiences in my mind. However in this memory I remember it from my point of view and I remember that day exactly. I don't think there was anything too special about this for me to remember it. And I feel from this memory it is particularly difficult to tell whether I am the same person. That day was somewhat out of character for me then and it would be now as well.

I have the same thing that a lot of my early memories are just things people have told me about my childhood that I probably visualized and designated as a memory.  Those memories tend to be the "out of body" memories rather than the ones that I can picture seeing through my own eyes.

I remember some specific events from when I was in preschool too. I sometimes need help to fill in memories from when I was younger. I know they happened but I don't remember much in the way of details about them.
