The correlation between attachment style and higher well being later in life seems to make sense. Mothers that are invested in their childs well being and growth early on in life will probably still be invested as the child grows older. However, some mothers experience postpartum depression, which could play an interesting part in the first year of a babys life. Usually, the mother gets over the depression, but I wonder how that time period affects the first year of a babys life.
I completely agree - the behavior of a child as a lot more to do with its parents than anything else. And you bring up an interesting point with postpartum depression. It would be interesting to do a study to see how postpartum depression affects a child for the rest of its life.
