Attachment Lab

The social norms for the culture in which a child is brought up would also be a contributing factor in how well adjusted the child is later on.  For example, some cultures stress strict social codes and a great deal of time is spent on developing appropriate behaviors; this approach could potentially lead to a less adjusted individual who is dependent on rules and the approval of other people.  Other cultures are geared more toward independence and letting a child decide how he/she should live their own life; this style may force the child to adjust to changing situations.  In no way are these two examples definitive, various other factors are at play, but I think that cultural differences could, along with attachment styles, factor into future dispositions.
