Attachment Lab

I think that secure attachment could greatly influence a childs well-being later in life. One of the variables that could influence this is the familys culture, and the different styles of child-rearing that are present in different parts of the world. Some cultures may hold the respect and reverence to the elders of the parents to be very important. This could discourage personal communication between mother and child, and weaken their relationship; thus causing avoidant attachment. This type of environment might lead a child to be uncomfortable being in an intimate relationship in his/her future because of the inability to communicate on a personal level.

I agree with your explanation. It raises some interesting points about the relation between attachment and well-being, such as ethnic differences can cause different attachment styles in children and several other effects that can impact the child later on in life. This explanation is extremely relatable. I can definitely see this as having some impact on a child's attachment style and well-being. I did not realize, prior to reading this explanation, how much different styles of child-rearing can affect a child.
