In addition to attachment, an individuals familial income, personal income, and external environment are contributing factors to future well-being.These factors have the potential to create pressuring forces, such as achieving higher education, informed world-views, and competitive responses to ensure individuals are made better off in the long run, relative to peers lacking these characteristics.
This was very similar to my response. I agree that economic and other external forces would be just as influential to a child's development, as they would affect the opportunities that are available to the child later in life. The book does not mention any studies that would control for these factors.
