Attachment is obviously important when it comes to predicting the behavior of a person in the future. But I think it's not only the people that the child becomes attached to, but it's also the inanimate objects that the child is attached to. Let's say there's a 10 month child who is constantly brought into his much older brother's room. The brother doesn't do much, but the room shows so much. There's posters everywhere regarding drugs and gangs. There's replicas of war related objects and toy guns. With constant exposure, the child could associate life with guns and other bad influences. He might be extremely caring to those closest to him with good parental care, but inside he might also have a love for violence or worse...
I agree with the environmental influences and I would expand that to include TV and video games. The child will come to think that violence is acceptable if he his exposed to a lot of it in an uncontrolled manner.
I also agree. Among these factors, news, media, and entertainment can also have a huge impact on how the child develops and how secure he feels. Similar to video games, the child could become accustomed to violence and think that it is acceptable simply by viewing seeing it on TV, or hearing about it frequently.
