Independent variable: Attachment style of the child Dependent variable: The person's well-being later in life
Additional Variable: I think that the child's environment plays a huge role in shaping who they are later in life. For example, if the child's parents are not around, the child probably won't have a secure attachment to them, as opposed to if the child spends all of their time with their parents, in which they will most likely form a secure attachment. Even if the child has a secure attachment, the environment is able to shape, and possibly harm the person's well-being later in life. Both the nature and nurture of the child need to be taken into account when considering a child's overall development and attachment.
I completely agree with you. There are many factors that go into the definition of who a person is, not only their early attachment style. Everyone is continually growing and changing and I feel that environmental circumstances are extremely influential in changing someone.
