I think that well being in the future does depend on the attachments that people have as children. If the parents are caring and tend well to the child and their needs, the child is most likely to have a stable "base" for the future, whereas a child coming from an abusive family, or one that is torn by divorced parents will develop many insecurities and problems on their unfortunate experiences as children. However, these same experiences can make the child have a stronger personality in the future because the grew up with little attachment, and essentially survived on their "own".
