The book mentions that children who have strong attachment take on more leadership roles and are popular with their friends at school. It also states that about 60% of middle-class children are well-attached. Based on my experiences throughout school, it seemed perhaps 5-10% of the school population was interested in leadership roles.
I agree with this post, because I feel that children with secure attachments with their parents and in their home environment will be more confident later in life. If they are secure with their home and with their parents, they are more likely to be secure with themselves. Therefore, a secure attachment between a child and parent creates a child that is able to lead a group, and is thus more likely to be popular and in a leadership position.
I disagree with this. I believe that a secure home and a good bond between a parent and a child is not co-related to leadership posts. If a child is secure he may be more confident but that may also tend to make him feel like it is unnecessary to take on leadership posts as he doesn't feel the need to.
