Families that are stable (economically, emotionally, etc.) are more likely to give their children more attention than those that are not. This is simply because stable families will have more time and energy to dedicate to the upbringing of their children. These children will have more of an attachment to their parents because of this attention. However, this is also a cause for well-being later in life, since stable families are more likely to be able to help their children with their lives (for example: by sending them to college).
I agree with this post. If a parent is a drunkard, that could cause the child to be less attached to the parent because he might beat him. Then, when the child grows up, he could be influenced by his parents drunkenness and become a drunkard, and have a bad social-economic standing.
