Child Development

While the theory presented in the book does make sense, it is perfect possible that child attachment and general well being are simply both effects of something even more general, such as genes or environment. Essentially, the child might be prone to attachment if they are genetically born with that type of personality, or in a comfortable environment for attachment. This also holds true for later life experiences, where the child's genes and environment may be the primary cause for later general well being.
