My Dream

I was wandering through what I knew in the dream to be my childhood home, although it wasn't even similar to my real home. There were many rooms, but they were not connected to each other. I experienced each room like a vignette. I only remember three of them. One was my older sister's room, which was mostly made of a light wood and very bright with a setting sun colored light. I knew that I was not supposed to be in there, that it was private, but I stayed for a while because it was very peaceful. Another room was a workshop with strange and dangerous-looking instruments on the table and on the shelves. Some parts of the room were bright, but most of it was in deep shadow. Everything was dusty and seemed abandoned. I felt like it was a place I had known before and forgotten about. Another room was an attic so huge and dark that I could not see the ceiling. Huge piles of oriental-style rugs were stacked in piles much taller than I. It made me feel very small. I knew something was watching me. It wasn't scary, just eerie. The dream ended with me standing in some very beautiful woods, waiting for something.

Thanks for reading!

I think after the first week of school you're reflecting on how the start of your new life will impact the life the relationships you have with your family. Your older sister's room was very serene and calming representing how your older sister is able to comfort and console you when she's in your presence. Maybe you felt like you were not supposed to be in there because the room was such an intimate representation of you and your sister's relationship and you were seeing it in a way that you somehow feel is forbidden. The workshop could represent how you feel that you had a strange upbringing and how maybe you have anxiety about what it would take to raise a family of your own. The key part of the dream was definitely when you felt that it was a place you had known before and forgotten about. Perhaps you are afraid that you will change so much in the next couple years, or even the next couple months, that you will forget about your family and that they will forget about you. Your family seems to have abandoned this house that you grew up in. This huge dark attic could represent how you're intimidated by this darkness, the ambiguity that surrounds your future with your family. As for feeling like someone was watching you, that could be something bigger than yourself like fate or destiny, or maybe just your family. Standing in some beautiful woods waiting for something represents how you are eager for this new life of independence to begin! It is all very exciting.
There are so many cool images in this dream!
