In my dream, I was driving in a car with two of my friends; one in the passenger seat and one in the back. I was driving fast and then for some reason, the brakes stopped working and the steering wheel was jammed. My car slammed in a wall and the air bags went off. Then, next thing I know, I am driving down the road again and my car is still not functioning properly. The car spins out of control, flies off a bridge, and somehow catches fire. Just when I think my life is doomed, I wake up.

This dream is similar to another dream I read in which the dreamer was being chased by someone who wanted to kill him. They're similar in the idea that both situations seem to be beyond the dreamer's control and everything gets worse and worse until the dreamer wakes up and this dream could have a similar meaning which is that you are facing anxiety over a situation that you feel could potentially take a turn for the worse and trap you. However, it differs because at the beginning of your dream everything is going smoothly while at the beginning of the other dream the dreamer is already in a bad situation. Your friends may be in the dream because it is a situation that could affect those around you that you care about.
The dream appears to be a manifestation of the current state of your life and your need to cope. The speed of the car could reference the chaos present about you, all of life's random trials rushing past. The inevitable crashes, seemingly looped, express a feeling of being trapped, subjected to the same strains repeatedly. In each case you lose control, signaling a fear of loss of control in your life, perhaps something is particularly overwhelming you. You probably need to relax for a bit and break the cycle of stress to relax with the friends who are being pulled along with you, suffering as well, even in the dream world. You break the cycle only by waking, removing yourself from your dream state. Therefore, in all likelihood your subconscious is signaling a desire to break from your current state of life - take a break do something fun, give your brain a rest from the stress.

I think this dream shows your fear of losing control. The fact that you are in a car that you cannot steer or stop is representative of how at some points in life, we feel out of control. Your friends being present in the car represent how our actions impact others, and how a lot of the time you might make certain decisions based on the responsibility of someone you are with, or regret certain decisions because of the pain it caused other people.
I think this dream is referring to troubling past events in your life. The idea that you crashed twice due to reasons beyond your control may be indicating that you are troubled over two incidents where you failed due to factors completely out of your hands. The second instance seemed worse than the first however because 1) the repetition of driving did not happen again, 2) it woke you up, and 3) you would have most likely died the second time (flying off a bridge and fire on a car will do that). Both situations (if they do exist) must have been somewhat exciting or risk taking as you started driving fast before losing control. Lastly, having two friends in the car (who i assume are not your best as you did not mention them as so) may indicate that you believe your failures affected or disappointed other people, close or not.
I believe that this dreamn has several different meanings. First, I get a sense that you are not only scared of losing control but also of losing your friends because they were with you in the car as well. I think this all represents how you might feel when you do not have control over things and events in your life might not be functioning properly, you feel doomed. The fact that you wrecked the car twice also seems to show that this might be a reoccurring event/feeling in your life.
The main theme of your dream is not being in control. It seems that you feel like you've been put in a position of power, potentially the kind that affects other people (your friends in the dream). You are scared of making the wrong choice which would result in harm to people you care about. The fact that you recognize that you were driving too fast but that the resulting crashes were not avoidable shows that you are feeling guilty about something and trying to avoid being blamed. The fact that you have a similar dream twice signifies it's importance to you but also that maybe you are trying to hash out different scenarios of how to deal with whatever the real-life problem you are having.
