The dream started out with me driving down a local street in my hometown, Cincinnati, OH. I'm driving a 1997 GMC Suburban (I'm guessing it's because my family owned this car for quite sometime). As I begin to merge onto I-71, someone cuts me off. I now have to make a U-turn in order to attempt the merge again. After I execute my U-turn, I am confronted with the same exact problem and I cannot merge. After executing another U-turn, I realize that I am being followed by some unknown people. They continue cutting me off, but each time it becomes more aggressive. I now determine that I must go faster in order to merge on to I-71 and lose the followers. As I attempt to accelerate by pushing on the gas, the car does not. I must now resort to other measures to merge and lose the followers. Eventually, after much weaving, the car accelerates and I wake up.
I feel that the failure to merge that you experience in the dream is an example of challenges that you face in life. Possibly you are going through a difficult period in your life or people who seem to impede your successes surround you. While you may try to "make a U-turn," you are never fully able to escape. The problem the merging represents might be big and unable to be solved by simply making a u-turn. The strangers following your car represent the inability to solve this problem easily. As the unknown people continue to cut you off more and more aggressively, you begin to overcome the situation and become determined to get out of the mess. This shows that while you may be facing a challenge, you know that with determination and hope everything will work out for the best. Additional obstacles, such as the weaving and stalling, may be present, but they do not stop you from pushing through and persevering.
