Unfortunately, I've only had one dream that I can remember this week ...
Basically, someone (non identified person) told me that a woman's hair can only grow so many inches (they gave a number but I can't remember it). So I measured my hair and said "But my hair is only half an inch shorter than that!!!" - I was really shocked in the dream. - The person then said, "See, you do need to cut your hair" and I agreed. However, maybe 15 seconds later I asked "But if that's as long as you can grow it, then how do some of my other friends have ridiculously long hair?" I was then explained, that nowadays technology is very advanced and allows for such things. Their hair is artificial, not real. And then I just "ohhh, okay" as if my eyes had just been opened to something very important.
Hair seems to signify a lot of different things, and I think that it's important that you figure out what it symbolizes to you, because I think this is really dependent on what you define it as. My first impression was that it signifies creativity or conformity. Other readings could be that it signifies strength/vitality, youth, and a journey. I read something that pointed out that girls commonly seek out haircuts after a breakup, sort of a subconscious act of starting over, traveling down a different path. I think it's interesting that the person you created in your dream stated that their hair is artificial.
Maybe it's because you're a bit envious of them because you feel like you're at your limit, and the only way to surpass that is to betray nature. It's interesting that you were going for a haircut, showing that you want to fight against the trend.
