For both the trials with my right (dominant) and left (non-dominant) hands, I did not improve in reaction time as the experiments progressed. This would lend support to the idea that humans are essentially machines. A machine does not improve with practice; it only does what it was made to do. The physical laws that make it work do not change over time, so, assuming that it is in perfect working condition, there is no reason for it to function differently as time progresses. Likewise, if humans are machines, the neurons leading from the eyes to the brain to the fingers would not fire any faster as they continue to be in use, and reaction time would not improve. This is exactly what happened when I tested it.
