Earliest Memory

Everyday before school started when i was in pre-school (age 4), I would always prepare to go to school in front of the T.V. which always had the Little Mermaid on. While I watched my mother would help me change into my clothes, cook my breakfast, and do my hair (each day she usually did something different unless I request something specifically). This is probably my earliest memory, because not only was this routine repeated everyday for several months but also because I knew the Little Mermaid was my favorite movie as a kid.
I do not feel continuous with the person that I was back then nor do I feel like our identities and personalities are the same. Although I still enjoy watching the Little Mermaid, it has become more of a symbol of what I was then and not what I am now which is usually why I only watch it when I'm feeling nostalgic.

I definitely agree that the reason why you remember routines of everyday before school is because the routines repeated in a similar fashion. I also remember watching some kind of cartoon movies. But, I don't feel like a continuous person because obviously, we both don't watch those tv programs or movies regularly anymore and our preferences changed over time.
