Earliest Childhood Memory

I was three years old and in preschool.  My homework was to make a picture book relating to the letters of the alphabet (A = picture of an apple, B = picture of a banana, etc).  When I was reviewing this with my teacher, I remember distinctly going over the letter W.   The picture I had was of a witch.  For some reason, for which I can't remember, the teacher and I had a disagreement.  I think she thought that the picture was representing another letter.

This was the first time I had an "argument" with a teacher.  I feel as though that is why it is so memorable.  I think I have a similiar personality today.  I do not like to argue with teachers, but if I think I am right (and I have good evidence), then I will argue.

I do feel that the person I was describing was me.  I remember sitting in the little chair, at the little table talking to my teacher.  I also remember going home and telling my mom what happened.  I think we changed the picture to make it easier to understand.

I was also about 3 years old in the memory that I recalled. My memory was similar in a sense that the reason I remembered this particular memory was because it was the first time I ever got into an argument or was ever angry with my father.

I think we are quite similar in a way that we both began to remember things when we were in preschool. However, my experience was a little different. Yours was more like experiences during preschool because of that argument with the teacher, while I remembered mine because I was afraid of going to preschool on the first day. Interestingly, I didn't remember having arguments with anyone when I was that young. I hope that's a good thing.

I think our memories are also very similar, mostly because we both remember something from around the same time (3 years old). Although you remember getting into an argument with a teacher and I remember taking home my pre-school class pet, I think they are both similar because we both remember exciting school related events/assignments. In your case, you got into an argument and in my case if I lost the guinea pig; I could have gotten into a very big argument with my teacher. Also, it seems that our families were both involved in solving our problems, which may have made the experience more memorable.
