My Earliest Memory

I remember this happened when I was 4 years old since I remember my mom was pregnant with my brother at the time.  It was a really foggy day when my dad decided to take us down to Virginia Beach.  I couldn't really see anything clearly because it was so cloudy and foggy and so when we got to the beach, my mom didn't want me going into the water.  So we just decided to take a lot of pictures instead.  As we were playing on the beach, my mom got really tired, so she sat down on a huge rock to rest when the rock stated to move.  Turns out, the rock was actually a huge turtle.  I remember being so surprised that I started to scream.  But my mom eventually calmed me down and we took a lot of pictures with the turtle.

I seem to have a pretty vivid image of this because I was really amazed and shocked at the fact that the rock moved.  I also think I was really concerned about my mom, who was also freaking out.  And since she started to panic, I immediately did too, even though I probably didn't fully understand the situation.

I remember certain things that I saw and a little bit of what I was feeling on that day, but it truly feels like an out of body experience.  I can almost picture myself doing certain actions and saying certain things but I don't completely associate my present self with that little girl playing with her parents at Virginia Beach.
