My earliest memory is my third birthday. All I remember is that my mom baked me a chocolate cake in the shape of a teddy bear, and one gift I received was a purse.
I suppose in some respects I am the same person (I still love chocolate cake), but I also feel a bit of a disconnect with my younger self--I feel that the person I am today started developing somewhere mid-elementary school. I wonder how much of my identity is innate and how much is a result of the experiences I've had over time--basically, a question of nature vs. nurture.
