Earliest Memory

In my earliest memory I must have been about 3 years old, because it was before I started pre-school.  I remember living in a small one-bedroom apartment with my mother.  There was a black and white couch in the living room and I slept in a crib next to my mother's bed.  The bars were down on the crib because I wasn't a baby anymore but my mother couldn't afford to buy me a bed.  I would fall out of the crib every night and onto the row of shoes that my mother had next to my crib.  Then I would get up and get in her bed.  I also remember being in the living room one day while my mother was on the phone and throwing crayons.  My mother gave me a very stern look and motioned for me to come closer and I remember being hesitant and scared.

There were no extraordinary circumstances that made these moments memorable.  It was just every day life, that's all I can remember of being that age.  I don't believe my personality was the same then as it is now.  I didn't interact with other children much because I spent most of my time with my mother or grandparents.  I was more mischevious because I was young and didn't know any better.

this was a fascinating memory. you remembered some very specific details about the setting of the situation you were in. There was nothing really extraordinary with your memory though. I find it interesting that you don't see a connection between yourself in the memory and now.

This was a very interesting memory. There were many aspects of it that made it much more detailed than would be expected at such a young age. Your memory is very connected to your mother, which could be a reason why you remember it so well.
