my earliest memory

It was early spring, it was during my mothers annual visits. I wore the new dress she bought for me from Japan and we were in the garden of my grandparents house. The grass was almost as tall as I was. I remember it was very hard for me to find my way. I had a plastic bottle in my hand and inside were grasshoppers that I managed to capture. I can almost feel the stickiness in my hands from the juices the grasshoppers secreted. My mom kept telling me to stop moving so she can take a picture of me, but for some reason I just kept on circling around in the grass.

I think I was three or four years old that year.

Well my parents left me with my grandparents when I was six month old. They both traveled abroad to get their PhDs so I was raised by my grandparents. My mom comes home ever year to visit, and I think the reason I remembered that was because it was one of her first visits.

Well honestly, I really do not know what my personality was like when I was three years old. According to my grandparents, when I was a baby, all I did was sleep and eat a lot. I had a larger appetite than average babies.

My first memory was oddly similar. It was of a mundane setting (our living room) and I was with my family enjoying the time with them. Also, my memory involved eating a lot, which is an ironic coincidence. I would imagine that you remembered this early childhood memory is because you missed your parents when you were little and this was one chance where you actually got to be with them.

haha, that's really funny because a lot of my childhood memories involve food or tv....
i get crazy food nostalgia. and i have a lot of memories of food that were in picture books i read as a kid and i don't really remember the story, just that the food looked really delicious..
