My earliest memory was when I was about four and we were moving from one apartment to another. I was having so much fun playing with all of the boxes while the rest of my family did all the work. I don't think that it is a representation of who I am today because now I am a hard worker. I also was so carefree back then...which unfortunately I am not anymore.
My earlist memory was also when I was four and involved having fun with my family. Maybe positive memories tend to be our first memories because we like to remember those.
Although that was not my earliest memory, I have similar memories from when I was four of moving. I also played with boxes and was more of a hindrance to everyone else who was working.
It appears that family moves are a common early memory, as I still remember the very second my family's second house came into view, when I was five. It's not the earliest thing that I remember, but I do still remember it clearly. More recently, I also remember our second move when I was ten. I guess it makes sense--a permanent drastic change in location would probably be something that a person would remember due to its significance.
