My earliest memory is either me in my parents car going to disney world. The picture in my head is me in the back seat looking at the hotel which was a tall tower. It may have been a dream or made up. I can't remember. I think this was when I was like 3, if it happened.
My other one could be me in my grandparents house in long island walking through the screen door. I think I was like 3 or 4.
I think I am a similar person now. I am still pretty happy and excited, but I have sort of a bitter side which I never had as a child. I think it was an adolescent thing, the moodyness or whatever it would be called.
I remember going to Disney World as a kid! I may have been a little older, so I remember more details, but it's amazing how they've been able to rig that entire conglomerate in such a way that even from a young age, kids remember their experiences.
I've also had that experience, where I can't tell if the past is fact or made up in my mind....interesting...
I remember going to Disney World when I was 4. I may have very little memory of when I was young but the memories I do have are very detailed. I remember getting a Minnie Mouse hat and meeting Goofy. I had some kind of a workbook that I got from Goofy.
I find it very interesting that you have a memory that you are not sure is real. I wonder where if you made up this image from stories that your parents have told you? This supports the bottom-up theories we learned about in class.

I have a very early memory of me sitting on my dad's lap and steering the car when I was like 3 or 4. I've asked my dad about this, and he said that never happened ever, but I still remember vividly, and I am pretty sure that it was a dream. So I think its interesting that we both have pretty early memories that may have been a dream.
It's interesting. From what I've seen on these posts, there seems to be a large difference in what people can recall at age three and age four. At age three it seems to be mostly just visual flashes and any strong emotions at the time. For example, I remember our teachers serving us green eggs and ham (visual) and the fact that I wouldn't eat anything that was green (emotional or maybe just me remembering that fact about myself now). However, people who are four and above seem to be able to remember a complete thought proccess behind a memory and usually those memories are longer. That's interesting because those are the periods where speech is also growing. Maybe that supports that thought and recall are based upon speech.
