I think that although a secure attachment in childhood may be a strong indicator of a successful and secure life as an adult, as always their can be confounding variables.  There are many situations in which traumatic events alter people's lives as adults regardless of how happy and settled their childhood was.  Likewise, there are people who have had very unfortunate childhood situations who have made the most out of nothing.  I think a big part of this relates to the individual and his/her resiliance.

I agree with this statement. Some people can take what they learn as a child, and apply it to life as an adult and be very successful. However, there are some things that you just cannot learn as a child, and when an obstacle is put in the way, there are certain ways that you must deal with it. Sometimes you don' t know how to conquer it because you didn't learn it as a child, but your adult self must find a way to do it.
