The relationship is most likely due to the environment in which the child wsa raised. It seems the same environment that would encourage secure attachment would also be encourage taking initiative and forming trust in relationships. Also, the same parent that is strong enough to provide for themselves and foster independence in their child would serve as an excellent role model for such positive behavior and relationships later in life. As such, both factors could be resultant of a positive influence and role model, not neccessarily a causal response.
I agree. I said something similar in my post. My main point was that it matters how often the parents are presnt, not specifically the attchment level that determines a child's success in other aspects of life as they develop.
I agree with your explanation and so it seems does much of the class. Although secure attatchment is definetly important, it does not seem to be the sole cause of one's status later on in life. The environment definetly plays a role.
