Developmental Issues Lab

Though all the evidence seems to point to secure attachment being associated with a better quality of life later on, it is not clear that it is this attachment that causes the outcome. An alternative explanation could be that children who are well fed and have a reliable source of food develop a sense of security in the world around them (in their caregivers). This then leads to secure attachment and also to confidence and security that leads to a positive quality of life in adulthood.
