Couple days ago, I had a dream that i was giving myself a haircut. One of my close friends (I don't remember who it was) was standing behind me, I can see him/her in the mirror. I was using a clipper. I messed up my haircut real bad so half way through I decided to just shave my head.
Its possible that the reason you dreamed that you were giving yourself a haircut is because you are (or long to be) an independent person who does not like to rely on others. In this case, even though most people cannot cut their own hair, you are doing so. The close friend standing behind you is possibly a person in your life who constantly looks out for you. That you can't remember who it was could signify that although this person watches out for you, he/she does so subtly and you pick up these cues subconsciously, resulting in you seeing the friend through a mirror image and with an unclear idea as to who it was other than that it is someone you are close to. The clippers could mean you are (or again, long to be) a perfectionist because clippers require more skill to use as opposed to an electric razor. Also, by simply shaving your head after messing up your haircut could mean that you go to extremes in many situations where it is clear-cut, one decision or another, in this case a good haircut, or no hair at all.
