Dream Lab- The Aquarium (Posting again because the other one was deleted?!?)

Note:  My original post seems to have disappeared, so I'm putting this up again.

Codename:  Shmay

The Dream:

I was sitting with my housemates. We had been given 4 fish as gifts, since we can't have real pets. The fish were each in a plastic bag with some plant that was their food.

Then somehow I was an aquarium worker, and I was assimilating those 4 same fish to a new giant tank that already had a ton of things in it. I was scuba diving around this tank, except I didn't actually have an oxygen tank, but could breathe just fine.

Next, for some reason, after I released the fish I had to catch them again and I felt very anxious about making sure I got them all, because something was wrong. I swam around the tank trying to catch them in plastic bags. One of them died and I felt very upset.

Once I thought I saw a shark, but it turned out to be a coworker playing a prank on me. I woke up while still swimming around the tank.

I believe your dream in which you are assimilating the fish into the giant tank is indicative of the stress involved in getting used to a new environment. The tank itself is symbolic of the environment. Possibly since you were the one helping assimilating the fish, you may see yourself as helping others during this transition into a new environment.

You are situating into a new environment and have become very attached to those around you. Since you have just made new friends, any little distance beyween you and your friends makes you feel insecure and lonely. Your lack of fear and surprise towards the formidable shark tells that you'll be just fine in your new home.
