Earliest Memory Lab

For my earliest memory I was around two and a half. There were not any significant events or traumas associated with this event that make it my earliest memory. My personality is not entirely the same then as it is now, but significant elements of my personality are the same. There isnt really too much interesting about it, I was playing with toy cars at day care and I observed that I had the same toy car at home, only mine was a different color.

My memory was similar, in that I was also around that age, and my memory was not particularly significant. A lot of the other postings here deal with large events (surgeries, first day of school, family, etc), so I find it interesting that both of ours don't fit that formula, and I am curious as to why we would remember them.

My first memory is similar because I was alos at day care and at a similar age. The big difference is that mine was memorable because it was slightly traumatic (at least at the time) because I lost my favorite toy. So mine fits the formula more. Perhaps this is your first memory because you suppressed an earlier more traumatic memory or because the cars were something you really liked.

I like that your earliest memory also has nothing significant associated with it. It seems interesting that sometimes it is the simple things we remember most.

My earliest memory is similar in regard to a common lack of trauma or significance.  Additionally, my memory was associated with a comparable intriguing object in the form of toy trains around the same age.  Similarly, I believe the principal characteristics of my personality from my event were relatively held intact throughout the course of time.  Furthermore, my event was recalled primarily through my childhood fascination of trains, and perhaps, your memory is the product of some relatively meaningful recollection of the past.
