Spoon Guitar

One of the earliest memories I have was of being in St. Marten, as a very young child (perhaps 5). I saw a performer on a little stage area in the restaurant we were eating in and wanted to play with him. So, I grabbed a spoon, went up to the stage area, and pretended to play with him. I think I took a bow at the end before my parents noticed what I was doing and pulled me back to the table. I felt somewhat popular, as I thought that everyone was clapping for me, which was a cool feeling. In one sense, I was a little kid, and dont really share many commonalities with my 5 year-old self. At the same time, I know that I was, in fact, the one that did all these things as I remember doing them. Thus, while I feel like a different person, I cant really think of those memories not belonging to me. As far as how far I can go back and still feel like me, Id say that the end of my sophomore year in high school, or perhaps a little later, is the earliest time I can still draw some direct personality connections with my current self. Before that, I really feel as though I was a fairly different person.

Cheers,
King Charles
