Earliest Memory Lab

My earliest memory was actually from when I was six months old. I have two that I can remember at the momement.

The first memory was very simple and I know I was six months old because I told my mother my memory and wondered where it was from and astonishingly she told me that I was only about 5-6 months old. Another way I can measure it was that my great grandfather was still alive.

Anyway, I remember quite vividly laying on my grandmother's couch in the den while my uncle was babysitting me and was making really odd faces at me. What I think was really cool about this memory and other early memories is that I remember how small I was. What I mean by that is I remember that the couch I was on was enormous in size and my uncle's face was also huge. I remember all I was doing was staring up at him and I felt really confused.

I honestly do not think that there was anything that made this memory particularly memorable. I have a really strong long term memory that I am really intrigued about but at the same time a little creeped out that I remember something so insignificant. And its not just this memory either, I remember things from 5-6 months and almost everything after that.

The next memory that I have was when I was six months I remember that I lost my blue plastic policeman toy. I lost it at a restaurant that had black and white checkered floor tiles. I remember that I was in a high chair and was really upset because I could not find my toy. to this day I have not found that blue policeman.

I think I remember this memory for two reasons: One was that the restaurant that I was in had incredibly contrasting colors everywhere. Also when I lost the blue policeman I remember being very confused and upset. So that strong emotions made it easier to imbed this information into my memory.

In response to whether or not I was the same person back then as I am now. I would say that I am a little of both. A lot of quarks I had as a child still stay with me as an adult. Also a lot of my interests carried on with me into adulthood. But I also picked up so new passions. I think the individual that I am is much different as well because I think a lot differently than I did in my childhood.

I have two also when I was 4-6 months old. I too remember all the surroundings and faces even the weird 90's hairdo lol. I also remember almost everything after the first memory and I actually thought that was normal!
